FINANCIAL RESOURCES REQUIRED FROM FOREIGNERS AT THE ENTRY TO THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND
1. A foreigner entering the territory of Poland must have financial resources to cover the cost of stay in the amount of:
- PLN 300 if the period of the planned stay does not exceed 4 days or
- PLN 75 for each day of the planned stay, if the period of the planned stay exceeds 4 days (or its equivalent in foreign currencies).
Documents that can confirm the possibility of obtaining funds by a foreigner are:
- traveler's check;
- a certificate of the amount of the credit card limit issued by the bank or credit institution that issued the credit card;
- a certificate confirming the possession of means of payment in a bank or a cooperative savings and credit union or credit institution established in the territory of the Republic of Poland or in another Member State of the European Union.
2. A foreigner entering the territory of Poland, who is a participant of a tourist event, a youth camp, sports competitions, has paid the costs of stay in the Republic of Poland, comes to a treatment and sanatorium facility, is a participant of a program enabling holiday work on the territory of the Republic of Poland must have financial resources to cover the costs during the stay in the amount of at least:
- PLN 20 for each day of the planned stay, but not less than PLN 100 (or the equivalent of this amount in foreign currencies);
Documents that can confirm the purpose and duration of the planned stay are:
- a document confirming participation in a tourist event, youth camp or sports competition;
- proof of payment of the costs of stay in Poland in the scope including at least the costs of accommodation and meals;
- referral to a treatment and sanatorium facility;
- a visa to participate in the holiday work program containing the program name in the "Comments" field.
3. A foreigner entering the territory of Poland in order to undertake or continue studies, participate in research or training, conduct development works and undertake or continue education must have financial resources to cover the costs during the stay in the amount of at least:
- PLN 1086 for the first 2 months of the planned stay or the equivalent of this amount in foreign currencies;
A document that can confirm the purpose and duration of the planned stay by a foreigner is:
- a certificate of admission to studies or continuing studies, participation in research, training, conducting development works, and undertaking or continuing education.
4. A foreigner traveling back to the country of origin or residence, or in transit to a third country must have financial resources in the amount equal to the ticket on the basis of which he arrived on the territory of the Republic of Poland, but not less than:
- PLN 200, if it came from a country neighboring the Republic of Poland,
- PLN 500, if he came from a European Union Member State other than that specified in point 1,
- PLN 2,500, if it came from a country which is not a member of the European Union - or the equivalent of this amount in foreign currencies.
Note: The average foreign currency exchange rate announced by the National Bank of Poland on the last working day preceding the foreigner's entry into the territory of Poland is used to convert the funds held by the foreigner into Polish currency in a foreign currency.
The document specifying the list of funds required from foreigners upon entry to the Republic of Poland is the Regulation of the Minister of the Interior of February 23, 2015 on funds required from a foreigner entering the territory of the Republic of Poland and documents that can confirm the possibility of obtaining such funds, as well as the purpose of and duration of the intended stay.
